I have an HP Pavilion notebook Windows Vista Home Premium, AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core Processor TK-53 1.70 Ghz, 32-bit Operating System, Memory: 1982 MB.
I don't know if all that info was necessary, but I just wanted to make sure.
I just want a little info on how I could manually delete files and such, so that my computer can get back to performing the way it did when I bought it.
Any help is appreciated. First thorough answer I VOTE BEST ANSWER!! :]
My computer had nearly 2600 threats and viruses shut down everything and now I'm on my new computer, and the old one still has slight problems but the virus is gone. and I don't have any Anti-spyware or Firewalls or anything. How did this happen?

If i cant do it this way, is there a program that will work? By the way i have Windows XP, build in speakers with laptop but i usually use my headphones.
I am working with Windows XP Home Edition, and I have tried deleting the Files, deleteing the Cookies, and clearing the History. Nothing has worked so far, and it's driving me crazy! I have a touch of OCD, and when I want the box cleared, I want all of it cleared. What's worse, is even though the box looks empty at times, all I have to do is type the letter that the entry starts with (i.e. "J" for JCPenny) and it'll show up in the address box. What can I do? Do I really have to pay for one of those "history-clearing programs"?
