I never used any Apple system so I am not sure about the cons (mainly) of an Apple system e.g. system heatup issues, battery issues etc. I would appreciate your opinion and suggestions.
I mostly use MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), IBM Lotus Notes, Adobe Acrobat, MSN messenger, Yahoo messenger, and some other softwares for making multimedia tutorials etc.
Will I be able to use any of these on Mac OS (not using Windows)? If no, what is the alternative?
Is there any problem in playing videos (mpeg, mp4, flv, etc), music files? Do I need to "buy" the corresponding software or it is free?
I heard that there are some virus issues in Mac as well, which anti virus software is available?
Last but not the least, can I downlaod free softwares for Mac (freeware or cracked) like I can do for Windows?
They work fine on my ipod, but when I plug them into my laptop to play music, the sound just comes out of the speakers instead. Could it be my laptop and not the headphones? Because they work fine on everything else
Other than checking 4 updates is there anything I have 2 do to keep my macbook running good? On windows I used to defragment the hard drive and clean up unnecessary files some how. Do i have to do anything similar to my Mac, i know mac doesnt defrag but is there anything else I need to do to keep my macbook goin strong?
I use Toshiba Satellite A100 notebook and Vista Business 6.0 as my OS. After a little bit of tweaking so that the laptop run smoother and faster (and sure it did, even until now), I can't do an auto scroll by using my touchpad.
Y'know, like, when you run your finger downward on the surface of touchpad from upper right straight down to bottom down right, it works like you press down on the keyboard. Another example, when you press the corner right bottom of the touchpad, you can minimize any page that you open.
Btw, those function are gone. What do I suppose to do?
