When you dispute something it temporarily is removed from your credit...sometime people do this...to make a purchase...dispute somethings....apply for a loan...then by the time you are approved....the investigation is over..

The above answer is wrong.
When you dispute an item. it is noted on your credit report that the item is being disputed. This does NOT remove it from your report, and it does not help or hort your current credit score.
The CRA has 30 days to "verify" the debt. If the creditor does not respond then the debt is automatically removed from your record. This will help your score once it's been removed.

First rule of credit. Dispute everything, because sometimes the Credit agencys don't have any proof of the debt, therefore they must dismiss it, but only if you dispute. And it will never bring your score down.
