Surely you are not naive enough to believe everyone from the US (with an accent) is an American crook! What about the Quebecois or PEI citizens' accents when they go to Regina or to NWT. The accent does not make them crooks.

Do they? I wasn't aware of that. I hope they don't bring their guns. We don't like guns in Canada. There is not so much difference between a Canadian and an American accent as there is between a Canadian and a Brit.

The reason they go to surrounding countries is because most crimes are so petty that the U.S. will not agree to extradite. It is not hard to go to Canada and Mexico. It is easier on the government if a stupid criminal moves out of the country. Out of sight, out of mind. Then they are not our problem anymore.

I thought it was draft dodgers that go to Canada. I heard Canada won't extradite criminals who would face the death penalty. Of course, Law & Order in not the best source.
