When sanction are used what does it mean ,what is a sanction??

Sanctions are used a punishment. Such as not allowing them to use their ports,their bank accounts,not selling them technology,cutting off food supplies, baring any trade agreements. To punish one person by punishing a whole country is barbaric.

IN every day talk,I promise to give you money but in return to mow the yard,but you dont then i wouldnt give you the money,,,the money would be the sanction.If i promised to pay your bills,and you promise to keep your grades up in school,but you dont,I dont pay the bills would be the sanction against you
