My Freshwater Jellybean Parrot just laid eggs..?
Iast week 2 of my other fish died. no idea why. then a few days ago my fish was digging with his, now i found out her. nose and moving stones in my tank. i just noticed in a big hole in the back there are little bubble looking things ( eggs ) against the glass near the bottom..i think it mated with a kissing gourami. since that was the only fish close to its size which just recently died .
i have no clue what to do . idid not expect this. i have a peacock eel about 3 1/2 inches. a pleco which is about 5 inches a tiny paradise fish which i think is no harm. and 3 little spotted sucker fish things. the mom is being very protective so at this point idont think i have much to worry about since she isnt leaving her eggs side. but when they hatch what should i do. the only other tank i have is a 10 gallon with 2 goldfish. and the eggs look stuck so idont wanna try to remove them.. can anyone give me a few tips on what to do please.. and what should i do if most of them live to maturity?

If your fish is a parrot, as stated, the eggs won't hatch. About 98% of male parrot fish are sterile. If it's an actual jellybean, then they have a much better chance of hatching-they're bred I believe it's a parrot fish and a severum. Now, being as that's the only one in the tank, they will not hatch. They don't cross mix with the fish you listed. Let the eggs be, they'll turn white from fungus. She should eat them, but if she doesn't after about a week, you'll need to remove them. Sorry.........but nothing to worry about. How big is your fish tank?

All congo african grey parrots have red tails, even females. Sounds like you have a little girl, congratulations! A couple hints to stop or slow the egg laying before it becomes a problem.. Don't remove the egg until she has stopped paying attention to it. It could take up to 20 days or so but will keep her from laying more in most cases. Keep a close eye on how much "daylight" your bird is getting. Try to make sure she has more night hours than day hours. This may require darkening the room she's in around 7pm and making sure it stays dark until 7 or 8am the following day. Typically birds will start breeding rituals in spring as the days get longer and nights get shorter but since we keep them inside we tend to turn on lights when it naturally gets dark so they have much longer days than they would in the wild. Also be sure to keep her well fed with lots of fruits and veggies as she's laying eggs as it is extremely stressful for greys and most birds generally. Keep her from any stressful situations as well. Hope this helps! :)

Parrot fish is a crossing of Golden deacons and Red devil and they can never breed. Its like a mule (donkey & horse crossing)They will lay eggs but it won't produce any fish.
It will rot and make you tank stink.
Mine did that also.

dont worry, the eggs will never hatch as you have no male to fertilize them
