sql question..?

hello, i want to know is it possible if; i have text document in excel format and then i want to transfer it into a table using sql command?if yes, what is the sql command for it? next, if i have successfully running the command, could i use the records which i used just now to compare it with the existing records in existing table in the databasse? please help me...thanks a lot ya..

Open Access, then import Excel file. This creates an Access database table. At that point, you can then convert to any database you choose or you can do CREATE table command and then INSERT. Look in any SQL textbook for the syntax.

I've used Oracle 9i. Here u've to create tables first (while creating tables, u've to declare attributes). Then u've to insert values into that tables for each separate attribute (column). But there's no command for directly converting an Excel format into a SQL-table format. Since I haven't used Microsoft SQL-server, I don't know about it, u can search for it.

what you can do is 1) create the table 2) click on the lock icon and unlock it 3) then click on line below and click on the +sign (next to the lock) 4) copy the data from excel sheet 5) click on the blank line in the table 6) press control v this is should copy the data into your table... well you can compare the data if its in two different tables by using a common key for example select t.*, a.* from table1 t,table2 a where a.unique_field=t.unique field hope this helps
