Hi UK builder here, Pva is Polyvinyl acetates, it is the most common adhesive used in the world today. But not all pva glues you buy are the same it is formulated differently and specifically for the use stated on the container.
But what is common among all the various mixes is that ALL PVA,s;
1)work on porous materials
2)are only toxic if ingested.
3)do not emit harmful fumes.
4)are water based and clean up with soapy water.
5)are not hazardous on the skin.
6)they need pressure to cause suction so as to adhere.
7)they can not cope with very low temperature as this causes the polymers to break down, and so fail.
8) most pva's are not completely water proof, they are resistant to water but not classed as waterproof.
When you go to buy pva glue the price difference does not count to much, it usually means one is thinner than the other or you are just being taken for a ride, as there is nothing in pva formulas that should increase the price they are all basically the same so shop wisely. Good Luck.
