Is it ok to switch back to standard oil after you have used synthetic oil in your car?

Why stop?? You are probably saving money on fuel by reducing friction with todays gas prices - especially if you have a high displacement engine/are pulling trailers or driving more than 25K/year. If your engine has an oil leak I would bet that it would still leak with regular.. Synthetic flows better over a wider temp range. Conventional oil will heat up and flow causing a leak eventually anywhere a synthetic will. Get a new gasket if it really bothers you.

It wouldn't immediately hurt the engine, if that is what you are asking. However, synthetic oil provides much better protection and will extend your engine's life dramatically. If it were me (and it is in my cars), I would continue to use the synthetic.

Do it!!! If you have noticed oil leaks wih Synthetic they might go away with the regular old oil.

Absolutely no problem whatsoever. Won't hurt a thing. You will however, need to change your oil more often with standard sae oil.

Why not stay with synthetic. Get the best, and change once a year, or 25k miles. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/default.aspx?zo=1452557

NOOOOOOOOOO! If you have high miles then just swich to syn blend... but never use full syn on a high mile motor if you have never used it in the engine before...

Why?? Stay with the good stuff. You can do it, if you want to. The syntetic is a lot better, though.
