If you looking for the best Sushi in US, you have to try MASA in New York, even thought the most current price tag is $450 + beverage + tax + tip, you be looking at ~$750 per person, but its well worth the money. If you looking for auth. Japanese Food go to Aburiya Kinnosuke, If you hungry for Yakitori (grill chicken on a stick), go to Yakitori Totto. Please be aware both restaurant are predominantly Japanese crowd, most server understand English little to none. and one more thing the poultry are done in the traditional manner. (not cooked all the way through, there will be different chicken part on the menu better leave unknown)

I can recommend many in the DC area- Makoto, Sushi Ko, Kaz Sushi Bistro, Niwana Hana in Rockville, Tako Grill in Bethesda, or in Rehoboth beach- The Cultured Pearl, but if you are somewhere else, I can't help- you should check out the dining out catagory.

Well that depends on where you live. For example you could go check out citysearch.com for your local restaurant directory. And look for good reviews by other restaurant patrons.
