Those who read the Bible regularly and make personal application of it benefit from the teaching, the reproof, the correction, and the discipline in righteousness that it provides. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) The inspired Scriptures have a depth and a force that no other book has. The word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and their marrow, and is able to discern thoughts and intentions of the heart. Taking in spiritual food daily is even more important because it affects our prospects for eternal life. (Deuteronomy 8:3; John 17:3) Every one of us needs to be fortified daily by God’s Word. Every day—at home, at work, at school, on the streets, when shopping, in our ministry—challenges to our faith are thrust upon us. How will we deal with these and will Bible commands and principles readily come to mind? Instead of encouraging a feeling of self-reliance, the Bible cautions: “Let him that thinks he is standing beware that he does not fall.” (1 Corinthians 10:12) Daily Bible reading will help us to “walk worthily of Jehovah to the end of fully pleasing him” instead of allowing the world to squeeze us into its mold.—Colossians 1:9, 10; Romans 12:2

In God's sight one is either a Christian or they are not. There is no degree of being a Christian, but there is a degree in growing in your faith and that is why all Christians should read and study the Bible. I use the King James version and as a study guide, I use the Matthew-Henry Commentary. There is a Scripture that tells us; "Be ye made perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect." The reference is to spirituality and Bible study is how you get there. I don't know that this is something one has to do daily, but it certainly should be done often. One could say that the thief on a cross beside Jesus was the very first Christian and all he did was to believe. Yet he was promised an eternal life in Heaven.

The Book of Daniel, a prophetic Book as is Revelation. People say that there was no revelation for 400 years from the time of Micah to Messiah Yahshua, however Daniel gives what would happen in those supposed silent years in detail from a gentile & jewish perspective. All the visions that he saw tell of the countries that would conquor the world & Israel. The same nations in Daniel are the same nations in Rev. Daniel is looking forward, Yochanan is looking back. The same nations will come into play in the end times & the Roman empire is the legs of iron & the feet of iron & clay. The Roman Empire was never conquored & will be in play again, Rome l & Rome ll. Do not make the mistake of thinking of RCC, look at who the generals were who were the strongest of Alexander the great, they are the 2 legs & feet of iron & clay mixed. They fought each other & Israel in the middle was the buffer zone & still is today. Egypt & Syria are the original locations & Israel was between them. Messiah Yahshua authenticated Daniel by quoting from this book several times, so I feel it has a direct bearing on the end time & the same beasts appear in the vision & are from the same people in the end times. Daniel & Revelation are telling the same history from a different angle. Hope this helps

A Swift Orderly Change
They should so they can understand God's word and therefore understand God himself more clearly. Christians want to have a personal relationship with God and live their lifestyles as Jesus Christ did and the only way to know how Jesus lived his life is to read the Bible to find out how he treated other people and how his own relationship with God was. Also, by reading the Bible, Christians can understand the heart and mind of God more clearly and thus understand him better.

Reading the Bible daily always helps get me through the day. It reminds me not to engage in gossip, to give an honest days work to my employer, and to treat everyone with respect so that I will have no regrets when I go to sleep at night.

2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work." Psalms 1: 1 "Happy is the man that has not walked in the counsel of the wicked ones... But his delight is in the law of Jehovah, and in his law he reads in an undertone day and night. And he will certainly become like a tree planted by streams of water, that gives its own fruit in its season and the foliage of which does not wither, and everything he does will succeed." That's why! :-)

That is God's words to us. We pray and thank Jehovah for the things he has provided and we ask for His guidance and direction. We also ask for insight and bravery to go door to door. He lats us know in the pages of the bible how much he cares for us. He reproves us, he sets things straight. Every work we do should be righteous...meaning knowing God's thoughts on a matter. First you read...then you meditate on what you have read. Your brain chemicals change. The more you learn about God..the more you want to learn. Jehovah made us and knows what's best for us and he tells us the best course for us all. It's a wonderful book with many fascinating life stories in it. One more thing....if you love God and obey by going door to door...a study of God's word will help you defend your faith and uphold God's righteous standards...Then you will be able to aid others to get the real life...Everlasting life.

How do you feel if you go a day without eating? Keep not eating, what happens? Same with ignoring our spiritual food, the Holy Bible.

Eph. 6 will answer this question best. Eph. 6:11-Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Read the rest down it explains more. Reading the word of God not only gives us knowledge but helps us fight against the devil this world. It is our strength.
