Am I fat? Please Help!.?

I'm about 5'2 and i'm 120 pounds. I have a huge belly and a lot of fat in that area. Everytime I look in the mirror I cry. Help?

I'm a medical student, and I can tell you that you are not fat whatsoever. According to the height and weight you listed, your BMI (body mass index, which is an indicator of obesity or on the other spectrum, malnutrition) is 21.9. This corresponds to the normal BMI range of 18.5-24.9. To lose the belly, do lots of exercises that will get your heart pumping and your lungs breathing hard... and do them consistently. Such exercises will burn off fat to use as fuel for your body. Furthermore, breathing hard forces your abdominal muscles to contract hard, thus toning them. Swimming is a good total body work out. This is why hard working athletes (such as soccer players) have no gut and ripped abs... trust me they don't do 326357357 situps a day... they do ALOT of cardio. Also avoid foods with lots of calories, especially in the form of sugars or carbs (breads, etc.). Since you seem like you might be a beginner at nutrition and exercise, I would try consulting a professional or reading books on the topic. Good luck! =)

You're completely average! If you want a flatter tummy, just do some crunches for about 15 minutes every night or every morning. I used to take aerobics, and every day before we would begin, we would have to do 10 minutes of crunches. And before you know it, you have a flat tummy! Also if you're a drinker that could be a contributor. But just eat right and excercise. But you sound healthy. Always remember every person on this world is different and unique. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Everybody is beautiful. Big, tall, fat, skinny, it doesn't matter. Everyone is different. Love yourself, and people will love you.

It's frustrating looking at yourself in the mirror and not liking what you see. If it's your stomach that you don't like, you can always do some toning exercises or crunches to shape that part and get rid of some of the extra belly fat. Try eating healthier by choosing lower fat choices, and incoorperating a lot of fiber and dairy. Fiber slows the absorption of fats, and dairy has been shown in some tests to reduce stomach fat. Perfect for your scenario :) Also get lots of exercise. Anything that makes you breathe while having fun, like dancing or something. It saddens me to hear that you cry...instead of focusing on something in the mirror that you don't like, try looking for something you do like. Curves, chest, face, hair, eyes, personality.... everybody has things they don't like about themselves. Focus on feeling healthier and lovin' what you've got! Good luck :)

Slightly OTT there you dont sound fat to me, im 5'6" and i 141 app thats a good weight for me. Drink lots of water and exercise and your belly will come down. You need to do cardio

Do 'Pranayaam',it will definitely help you to loose weight.For doing this 1st step-inhale ,take a breath by your left nose(hole),and out air by right nose,then take a breath by right nose and leave by left hole,again take by left hole and leave that by right hole.Do this for 10 to 15 minutes daily,Always remember that it is done,when your stomach is totally empty,u r not pregnant,not in your period, don't in fever.take a deep breath,but not by too much strength,force,as deep as u can.Results have shown that by doing pranayaam,one who is overweight, his weight reduced,and one who is underweight,his weight increased,it is also good in many diseases,if u do it daily you will never become sick,ill.For more information go to google search,type' Swami Ramdev Baba -pranayaam.(My English is not so good,hope u will understand it,All the best.)

you are only fat if you think you are. there is no need to take drastic measures and starve yourself to death. take your time, exercise and eat healthy (easier said than done) and you can become a comfortable weight. people cant say your fat, only you can decide when your too fat. just hang in there, and don't cry.

No, you're not fat! Just start doing crunches or sit-ups and eat healthy [: It will make your stomach flat.
