A bit bulky, portable, light.
Features of the DS Lite:
Slim, portable, light, brighter screen.
If you want something bulky yet portable, get the DS, if you want something slim and portable, get the DS Lite

No doubt the DS Lite.
It is smaller, the screens are brighter, the buttons are a lot firmer and better, and it is quite frankly a lot easier on the eyes. It's got the "sexiness" of the iPod. There would be no reason to get the original DS.
