First, make sure you are formating it as FAT16. Do not use FAT32 or NTFS. If that still doesn't work, try using the quick format check box.

When u use ur flashdrive extensively by merely deleting its contents and not formating it creates bad sectors as it occurs in harddisk...in this its just badfiles which refuses to delete.. the thing u can do is that take back up from ur flashdrive of all the important content and try to format it using all the methods provided in there by right clicking the mouse keeping the pointer on its icon in My Computer... If still same problem exists then try to check by TuneUp Utilities 2006 or by System Mechanic softwares.. they are nice and keep your computer and ur mass storage devices clean and secured...

Where did you get your Sandisk flash drive? One of my friend went to China, and when she came back, she bought an 8G Sony flash drive for me, since I helped her a lot. I was suspecious then because I know at that time, the largest is 2G on the market. And it turned out it's only 256M! eBay also has a lot of fake flash drive for sale. http://reviews.ebay.com/FAKE-SanDisk-Cruzer-USB-Flash-Drives-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001236054 http://reviews.ebay.com/FAKE-SanDisk-Cruzer-USB-Flash-Drives-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001456613
