First get rid of the parens, then use the right order of operations. 6 • (–4) – (9 – 5) ÷ 2 = -24 - 4/2 = -24 - 2 = -26

Alright think of it as order of operations. PEMDAS. Thats the order you want to do it in. Parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, adding, subtracting. If you can't remeber that then try rembering Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally. 6 * (-4) - (9-5)/2 first do the parenthesis (9-5)=4 6 * (-4) - 4/2 Now multiply the 6 and -4 to give you -24. -24 - 4/2 Now divide 4 by 2 to give you 2. -24 - 2 and your final answer is -26. also another little tip if it's all adding and subtracting work from left to right then.

well 6*(-4) is -24 -24-(9-5=4) so -24 - 4=20 20 divided by 2=10

so 6x -4= -24, so now problem is -24-(9-5)divided by 2. now what you have to do is 9-5=4. now problem is -24-4= -28. So now divide -28 by 2= you fianl answer is -14

Order of operations, that's all you need to know. 6 * (-4) - (9 - 5) / 2 You must do the things inside the parentheses first. 6 * (-4) - 4 / 2 Now, multiplication. -24 - 2 Finally, subtract. -26 That's your answer.

well you have to follow PEMDAS, a specific order to do the math P-parenthesis E-exponents M-multiplication and D-division (from left to right) A-addition and S-subtraction (from left to right) so you solve whatever is in the parenthesis first 6 x (-4) - (9 - 5) ÷ 2 6 x (-4) - (4) ÷ 2 then you solve multiplication and division from left to right, whichever one is first -24 - 2 then you add or subtract -26 hope this helped =)
