A little vain, perhaps, but not weird or abnormal. It's probably a good idea to do a little controlled tanning ahead of time if you plan to get a lot of actual sun exposure later and you are completely white. The current thinking on UV exposure and skin cancer has changed. For quite a while people would tell you that UV = cancer, period. But it has since become evident that what causes cancer is BURNING, not tanning. If you can tan without burning, your risk stays lower, so if artificial tanning is part of that plan, you'll be fine. Oh, and tanning booths do not make you orange. The previous answerer who said that is confused. It's spray-on tans that give you the Oompa-Loompa look.

It's not weird. My manly ex-bf worked in a steel mill and got pedicures secretly all the time ;) It's amazing how vain men can be! I live in CA and I go tanning sometimes because I am insecure and tanning makes me feel like I look better naked. Believe it or not, though, there are actually some actual health reasons to tan. One of the ways to get vitamin D is to expose yourself to the sun (or fake sun) for about 10 minutes a day. Vitamin D is a natural pick-me-up and helps depression. For people that live in a state like WA where there is very little sun, 10 minutes of fake sun can make you feel sooooo much better! Tanning can give you a chemical reaction that is almost addicting...then again he just might like to flirt with the chick behind the counter and get naked in the next room ;)

It's not considered weird for guys to go to tanning booths/salons. I work at one and we have guys come in all the time. There's nothing weird about seeing a guy in a tanning salon.

i think it is weird for anyone to pay for sun. i'm 17 live in florida and have never been to a tanning booth. and never will. if you get pale in the winter, darn. get over it. people care way too much about their physical appearance these days. you don't have to be tan to be attractive. and overalls guys have as much right to be in a tanning booth as girls do.

it somewhat is totally fantastic so which you would be able to apply a tanning sales area even in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, tanning chemical compounds are actually not best for you! Please supply your self a while... merely an afternoon to take a seat via the sea coast and get a tan! it would do your pores and skin, recommendations and physique particularly some good. :)

no it is not....i myself have never gotten in a booth, but have done a spray tan a time or two...i have seen guys go in plenty times...it's not unnormal p.s. the guys i have seen in the tanning salon were with their girlfriend/wife.....so if you're wondering if it's a gay guy thing, that's totally not it, so dont listen to some idiot that thinks so

no its not. tan guys are sexier than pale ones so its cool. i would recommend using self tanning lotion instead tho because tanning booths can cause skin cancer

Dear mr. pasty, YES it is weird for a guy to go tanning. That is unless you are gay, then it might be normal. Tanned people in colder climates look retarded. Fix your hair, having great hair is a healthier way to look sexy than giving yourself an unnatural looking tan. I dunno hair seems to do more for donating character and appeal than a tan does. Plus it isn't half as gay seeming. Are you really a normal guy for wanting to do that? Honestly if you want to get a pedicure or manicure to go with that then perhaps you are gay, and that doesn't qualify as normal, but then how does one quantify normal anyways>>>we are all a bunch of freaks and so are you!

Don't go tanning, seriously. It causes skin cancer, not to mention that it will make you look orange and make your skin get all rubbery over time.
