Simba, I totally agree with white wolf. Pitbulls get such bad reputations because of ignorance, that you are helping spread. You really should look further for information before you make such harsh judgements. If the ball can fit eaisly inside your doggies mouth, it's a big no no, and if you think he could break it eaisly or swallow it take it away. I have 3 pits and they love the Kong toys, they are almost impossible to destroy, they are well worth the price. Check out their website!

It's not safe for a pitbull to play with anything! These dogs are an unfortunate abomination through no fault of their own and should never have been bred so aggressively. They are banned in certain countries as they are vicious by nature and cause terrible injury sometimes fatal injury to anything/anyone they set their sights on. ADDED: I have done my research white wolf, I work with animals and it's been proven that pit bulls were bred to be vicious fighting dogs. Their jaws have a locking mechanism so that when they get a grip they will not let go. I've seen the damage that these dogs can do to each other and to small children. maybe a bit of research on your part wouldn't go astray. ADDED: Nympheta, whether you agree with me or not is irrelevant. Unfortunately, from what I have seen through my veterinary work Pitbulls deserve the press they get. I would never single out any animal through ignorance, I know my job and I also know these animals. I have had to put several animals to sleep because of pitbull attacks and the most horrific thing I've ever seen was a pitbull after it had been in a planned fight, the poor animal was in such a state as to be more or less unrecognisable. These dogs can turn on people at a moments notice and are bred as such. They are bought as status symbols by people who are ignorant of the danger. they are listed under the Dangerous Dogs act in a lot of countries.

Simba, Do your research. Pitt Bulls are no more vicious than any other breeds. A 6 foot man is more powerful than a 4 foot man, But does not make him more dangerous. The same thing goes for Pitt Bulls. It's not the dogs that are naturally mean, it's the people who train them to be mean. If you only knew what those poor fighter dogs went through to make them so mean, you would understand. 83% of Pitt Bulls that come into shelters pass the temperment tests, chihuahua's only pass 71% of the time. alp807 gave very good advice, I have a German Shepherd, I can't let him play with balls because he will tear them up in no time flat. If you Pitt Bull does this to, it could cause more problems then choking. He might eat some of the ball and get stuck in his digestive tract. If that happens, your dog will need surgery to remove the pieces.

kong toys are great for Pits because the rubber is so hard, they have a really hard time destroying them. They come in larger sizes so that it wont get stuck in his mouth. My Pitty loves them- but I have to say, she chews and destroys tennis balls all the time, and has never choked or eaten any of them. Unless you r pitty is really stupid, I would say it is probably ok for him to play with a racketball.

You should not let the dog play with any balls that fit completley inside her mouth. I have seen a dog die from choking on a ball not much larger than a golf ball.

Well it's not a swallow concern. What other concerns might you have?
