Why can't I block people on Yahoo Messenger??

It's really annoying, this guy I blocked keeps IMing me! Is there a way to REALLY block him? So he can't contact me?

-Is this guy uses the same ID to send you message? -Did you just click the word "block"? -Did you put him on your ignore list? *Activate your messenger. Click "Messenger". Then click "Preferences". After that, click "Ignore List" then click the box "Ignore anyone who is not on my Messenger list". This is the only way wherein you can ignore people from sending you messages which you don't like.

Deleting and IGNORING (BLOCK) a person from one's contact list is different from from one another. When you delete a contact from your Messenger List, you take him off your list, but he can still see you when you are online, because your id is still on his Messenger list. You need to put him in your Ignore List so he cannot send you IMs anymore. When you ignore a contact, you always appear offline to the contact. They cannot view your status or send you an IM. You must delete the contact from your Messenger List in order to ignore them You need to delete the name/id of the contact before blocking him....so jot down the name/id first before you delete (becoz you'll need it as we go along with the blocking process). Having done that, right click the id and click "Delete":. Now, you are going to "block" or add him to your "Ignore List". Here's how to do it.. 1. Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Preferences." 2. Click the "Ignore List" category. 3. Select the option labeled "Ignore only the people below." 4. Click the "Add" button. 5. Enter the Yahoo ID of the contact you want to ignore. 6. Click the "Ignore" button. 7. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window. You can ignore up to 100 contacts. Note: To remove a contact from your Ignore List, select the ID and click the "Remove" button. To ignore someone who is not on your Messenger List: 1. Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Preferences." 2. Click the "Ignore List" category. 3. Select the option labeled "Ignore anyone who is not on my Messenger List." 4. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window.
