How do I get rid of snails, slugs, gnats. millipedes and pill bugs in my terrarium?

I have used commercial potting soil in my terrarium and sent away for the plants. Could they have been in the plants or the soil? The terrium has been set up for 3 months and I have had to cut back several of the vines so the system is great just buggy...Help. I have not had to water the system either.

They probably came in as eggs on the plants, the potting soil should have been sterile. If you can find a small toad, put him in there and let him do his thing. Or a small lizard, usually available at a pet store. Some of them will live quite happily in a terarrium. If not, you may have to clean everything out, wash off all the plants well, and repot it. You can't really let it dry out, that is not how a terrarium works.

most of the critters you mention will only hang out in moist or damp areas. Keep everything dry as possible. drainage and ventilation are a must
