Every guest brought us a loaf of really good artisan bread and now I need ideas for what to do with it?

I don't want to make lots of bread crumbs or croutons. What do you think? Most are sourdough long loaves, and I have wheat sourdough and some garlic and herb loaf. Thanks!

For Breakfast: French Toast Toasted with Cinnamon and Sugar Eggs Benedict (instead of English muffin) Lunch: Panini's and Soup Mini Pizza's (like french bread pizzas) Toast them to dip in your soup's or eat with Salads They would go great with Pasta Salads Dinner: Since you have several types, mix and match which ones you toast and keep soft, then arrange them in a basket and place on the table. Have butter and olive oils with fresh Parmesan cheese to dip them in.

Here in California a loaf of bread from a supermarket which is processed, full of chemicals, and artifically flavored costs $4 where I live near San Francisco. Some cheaper so-called bread like that can be found in big box discount grocery stores like Rainbow which dont exist where I live. I buy Semi-Freddie bread from Berkeley for $2 for a baguette, Santa Cruz bakery or Trader Joe bread which is dense and no artificial ingredients or chemicals. I also like German flat hard pumpernickel in the gourmet section of a market. I dont shop at supermarkets since the products are all fake and GMO and thats why Americans are so sickly. I try to buy less bread and more whole wheat crackers like Ak-Mak or from small independent bakeries in the area, so it is fresh if it is not too far away. Supermarkets keep products on shelves for months, hence the preservatives. Some bakeries have good corn rye or challah but they are closer to $5 a loaf.

with the sourdough you can make bread pudding, the wheat one dry up per slices to make some biscuits/bruschetta, the garlic you can make croutons and the herbs one make some crumbs and put in a dry place , you can mix it with a little bit of flour and some garlic powder to batter your chicken/fish or sprinkle on top of soups or salads, the dry sliced one you can fix a nice onion soup

freeze some of it. the garlic and herb loaf sounds good making croutons, or just eat it first.

Put in freezer bags and freeze or if any is getting stale, cut it up in small pieces and go to the park and feed the ducks.

buy some good cold cuts and make oven paninis (sandwiches). Also pick out a good bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar and have it for a dipping appetizer before dinner one night.

I love to make bruschetta with slender slices of sourdough. You can also make garlic bread out of it...mini pizzas...anything you want. Just get a little creative and go from there. :)
