What unique/colorful fish can go with tiger barbs?

30g community/semi aggressive freshwater tank, planning on a school of 6 tiger barbs and a single rainbow shark (**the 5'' shark, NOT the big redtail shark**) but I am looking for a couple of very colorful or unique fish to add in to enhance the tiger barb school- what are my options? I have been recommended Gouramis since a school of half a dozen tiger barbs should leave the slower gouramis alone and quarel within their school, but I am just wondering if I have some other options.

Gourami should be OK, or maybe a small species of cichlid like kribensis or firemouth. Nothing that gets too big and agressive, but I have kribensis in with my tiger barbs and they are fine together. Ian

umm tiger barbs are really peacefull fish. so i would say u could put in some Praecox Rainbows. also a Whiptail Catfish to keep ur algae down. or 2 or 3 pink kissing gouramis. silver dollor r also really cool. and i would think u would love a couple of Lohachata Botia Loach i love those guys and they are so peacefull with any fish. i hope this helps u out. email me at vwdude2007@yahoo.com if u have any ?
