how can i cope with being in a public school?
ugh
seriously
my school is known for rich kids who always look perfect in the hottest designer clothes and shoes. most of us drive range rovers to and from school. or at least, the ones that are old enough to drive
and 80% of our population are going to attend prestigous ivy league's. you know like yale, brown, and harvard. it;s like a MUST. we have high expectations and high standards
most of us do at least
when i go to public school, everyone is going to be like middle or lower class, all clones dressed the same- hollister here, hollister there. hollister everywhere. soo annoying
and i cant get in yale if i'm at a public school!
and the kids are really bad there. i'm scarrredd haha:[
but the ONLY good thing is, we don't have to wear uniforms
i HATED those ichy plaid skirts and oxfords

Lighten up and join the real world. You can get into Yale or an ivy league college from a public school. I have friends who have done it. Yes, you might have to live with those that you feel are beneath you, but when you get out into college and into the workforce, those are the people you'll be around 24/7. This country was built on the backs of people from common, middle class homes that strove to be something more. You don't have to drive a range rover to become successful in life. That's an incredibly juvenile outlook, and until you change it, no one will see you as anything more than a stuck up brat, which definitely will make you a target among your "lower class" peers.

You must be kidding me. You CAN get into yale if you go to a public school! I cant even believe that you are scared of people because they arent rich. And just so yopu know I go to a public school and they dont all dress in hollister. and sense when is hollister lower class? MAYBE 50% of the people in my school wear hollister. "and all the kids are really bad there" !!?? WTF!? Actually not even 50% of the kid there are bad. and I dont know what yu really consider bad but if you are thinking like drugs and cops everywhere you need a reality check. I mean yeah there are cops at my school a lot but thats only for the 5% of the kids there that do drugs. and no one even really likes them. If you are going to a public school and you are rich and all that then why are you so worried. You will never have a new problem because there is always someone who has been through it before. therefor not everyone in public school is poor. Also I would like to add that i hope you get eaten live in public school you preppy *****!

What are you doing in public school, if as you say that your school is known for rich kids who always look perfect in the hottest designer clothes and shoes. most of us drive range rovers to and from school. or at least, the ones that are old enough to drive
and 80% of our population are going to attend prestigous ivy league's. you know like yale, brown, and harvard. it;s like a MUST. we have high expectations and high standards
most of us do at least. You have me confused, are you High Class or middle or lower class?

Gettin' There
First you might want to drop the materialistic i'm special because I'm a rich kid attitude. Unfortunately at "public" school that could very well get your a** whipped=) Secondly if you know that going eliminates your chances of going to the college you prefer, then you may want to see if there is a way to avoid making that change, if not then looks like you should do some research on what colleges will be available to you.
Also you are stereo-typing kids who go to public school, yet with the attitude of what you've written you fit the "spoiled snot" stereo-type they probably have for you. You'd better learn whats truly important in life and change how judgemental you are, because you are going into a new enviornment where you aren't special to anyone and they may be just as cruel to you if you aren't friendly and genuine instead of fake and judgemental.
Best advice- try being a genuinely nice person-you can actually make friends that way=)

You can't be serious? Who exactly paid for the Range Rovers and latest fashion? Are you sad you have to leave or glad to be out from under the pressure? I can't quite tell. Either way, if you're old enough to drive, then you should have a certain level of maturity, that is to find a goal in life and pursue it, respecting others and being a friend. When the clothes come off, we pretty much all look the same.

i had the same problem, only the private school i came from didnt make you wear uniforms. anyway, im not a big fan of all the preppy hollister and abercrombie clothes. i do wear clothes from aeropostale cause they are much more modest, but not the shirts that say "aero" across the front. maybe you could go for the sporty look. wear basketball shorts and a fitted t-shirt with your hair in a high ponytail. it will make you look athletic, which most girls want to be, but the fitted shirt and ponytail show that you are a tad girly, too. it expresses a more tomboy-ish look. if you dont want to do that, you could just wear some simple capris and a fitted shirt. this shows that you are not trying to be all popular and preppy and have a competition to look the best. it appears as though you are simple and dont spend a bunch of time in front of the mirror. go light on the make-up.

Hah, the way you're looking at public school and its folk is soo stereotypical..
Open your mind.
You CAN get into Yale frm a public school.
Besides, people are a lot different and more individual there sometimes.
Not little clones crafted by their mummies and daddies like you may be used to..
You'll meet some of the greatest people of your LIFE!

you can make it into a ivy league school as long as you have good grades it shouldnt matter that much if u went a private or public school as long as u r smart. and if other people wear hollister and u feel that left out then wear hollister but people in public school dont really care but u might not wanna show up in a bently and armani jeans. i no someone in public school who is a genius and she wants to go to yale and she will probably make it in so if you're smart u can to.

Just keep on top of your grades and you will be fine. Just because you are in public school doesn't take away your chances to get into Yale

I know how that feels! I used to go to a priviate School with uniforms and it was the same thing (mine was catholic) and going to a public school kinda made it hard! I had to get used to it and I made a few friends at my public school though! Don't be afraid to try to meet new people and I know you won't regret it! I didn't! They might not have to money like others but they have awesome personalitys!
Good Luck!
