Hasn't the American economic and government systems been the progressive model for most of the world?

Why do "progressive" liberals want to regress into European socialism when it has failed in the past and is failing again? The prosperity of America is a result of our proven free market system and Representative Democracy.

NICE. Yes it is AMERICA and it's CAPITALISM that has raised the standard of living WORLDWIDE. John Kennedy would disdain these so called "progressives."

Partly right. Complete capitalism failed in the late 1800/early 1900's too. There needs to be something in between the absolutes of both capitalism and socialism. And capitalism and democracy are not mutually linked.

While Americans didn't invent capitalism, most of the world's economies are based on the American model. Most countries (like in Europe) have added their own changes to meet their individual needs. There is no question that the US has had a huge impact on how the world does business.

Most modern countries have some form of social Democracy. America is a long, long way from a social Democracy. So the answer to your question is, "no".

You and your socialism. Who is the new Lenin? Obama? Ever read Karl Marx? Trying to sound as informed as Archie Bunker might be amusing, but doesn't contribute to the debate.
