What kind of tattoo should I get?

This isn't my account, it's my husband's. I'm getting a tattoo soon, on my lower arm, not sure if I want it on the inside or outside. I want it higher up my arm than my wrist. So, the upper part of my lower arm. I'm thinking medium sized. I don't want anything real frilly, like a flower or a heart. But I don't want it to be too butchy either. I'm thinking about maybe a raven, or a few small black birds. Or maybe even a bracelet type of thing made of black birds or ravens. I almost considered a pile of poop for a tattoo, but while I think poop is cool, I don't know that I want it permanently glistening there on my arm. My question(s): Can anybody think of any other interesting tattoo ideas for that part of my arm? And, if I get something, like some kind of bird, which way should the head be? Toward my wrist? Toward my shoulder? Sideways?
