why is it that anytime i put my accelerator right down in my mustang it almost stalls?

In any gear in my 95 mustang 5 speed 3.8l v6 whenever i give it more than 1/4 throttle it hesitates and nearly stalls, it takes nearly a full second to rev up and you cant get it past 3500 or so rpms i would really like to have some ideas on whats wrong with it , any ideas would help alot thanks.

First thing I think of is the mass air flow sensor is dirty. Especially if you have a filter that needs to be oiled like a K&N filter. The oil usually gets all over the sensor and will make your car hesitate.

Check the spark plugs to see if the car is running rich. When's the last time the fuel filter was replaced? See if you can run a KOEO test (google it) and see if the computer is throwing any codes. Your local auto parts store should be able to scan for codes too (for free).
