To make sure they go to a good home, you could do a home inspection before you give them the puppy and make sure that everything is satisfactory, also make sure the owners have experience with those kinds of breeds, I am not saying that it will happen but chows are known for natural aggressiveness. Make sure that they plan on training the dog properly and even ask to do a home visit in say 3 months just to make sure that everything is ok. I highly do not recommend giving the puppies away. There are people that will go around and get free puppies and kittens just to torture them, they will often times come with a child and say the animal is for the child when they actually have torture on their minds, some people are that sick. If they can afford to pay for the puppy then you know they have the money to take care of it.

Try no puppy food. Your dog... being such a large dog will do much better on Adult or ALS foods. That'll prevent rapid growth which could lead to very painful and costly joint problems.
