Will queen ants alone, create their own civilization?

Alrigth so I wanted to test something out, and look at ants and stuff, so i madfe a homemade antfarm, and I put a queen ant in it. I want to know if I leave her in there will she lay eggs, and create her own civilization, or do I need other ants? please help. (yes i supply all the materials needed for the ant to survive)

Only if she has already been impregnated. She can not spontaneously conceive. See this website -- http://www.antsalive.com/ It appears that they have a "ant restoration" kit -- so ant farms must die off naturally after a few years. Why?? -- maybe the kits do not contain queen ants....... I wonder if the companies are not allowed to send out colonies that could reproduce and introduce alien breeds of ants into a community.

Why precisely do you opt on to dig up the queen? properly, in spite of. i do not recommend the water ingredient using the indisputable fact that would by coincidence drown a number of your ants. besides I consider the guy who suggested look ahead to the single with wings.
