My car was Stolen 1 day after I purchased my insurance?

Can they back out? The car has been recovered but when the adjuster came she said the car was a total loss. On top of that the finacing fell thru because the dealership was scamming a lot of people so they guy wants the car back but I told him I'm waiting for Progressive to get back to me and it's been 2 weeks since I've spoken to anybody. I keep leaving messages and I get no call backs. Does anybody have an idea as to what my next step should be. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most theft claims take longer for an adjuster or team to review to be sure the claim is valid and not fraudulent. Most theft claims have to go to a special investigative unit within the claims department and since your car is a total, it has to go through claims total loss unit who researches the value and determines the value of the car. My advise is to call the claims department again and if you must, leave another message and let them know on the message that you would like a call back as soon as possible and if you do not get a return call by the next day, you WILL call back and this time ask for a supervisor. Keep track of what time you called so you can let the supervisor know EXACTLY what time you left the message. Let him know the other times you have left messages. I would call this phone number: 1-800-776-4737 to ask for the a supervisor... and you want to speak to one right away. If the supervisor does not seem to want to help, you tell the supervisor that you WILL contact the insurance commissioner!!! Hopefully they help you then, if not, follow through with contacting the insurance commissioner. As long as the insurance policy was effective and you have comprehensive coverage on your car, your claim should be covered.

Take the advise of foxychick, she is correct. She did leave one thing out though. Progressive is known for taking their time processing claims. Keep the dealer advised of what Progressive is telling you. He may be able to help you get the claim settled quicker and get a better settlement from Progressive.

Stolen cars are scrutinized really close because there is so much fraud with people reporting their vehicle stolen. @ weeks is not too long for a stolen Vehicle. Your dealer sounds a bit dishonest too. I would tread very gently and I hope that you did not do anything dishonest yourself....?
