Ipod randomly turns off and can't be turned back on.?

I'll have my iPod 3rd generation 4gig nano on for probaly 5-20 minutes, and it will randomly turn off and not turn back on. The only way to get it to turn back on is plugging it in to my computer and eject it. (note) Battery is not dead. I'm not sure how I could fix this, I just recently re-formated it. If you have any idea's or solutions please reply.

you can re-start it by pressing the middle button and the "top" button at the same time... you hold them both down and it's supposed to restart it.

How sure are you it's not your battery? If you have had the iPod for more than say...3 years it most likely is the battery. You can buy a new one on ebay for pretty cheap and there not that bad to install.

Battery is ready to die on you. . I had this happen with mine. Contact Apple. They were able to help me get a new one. Mine was 2 months old.
