Can I get a salam from all the Muslims who don't wear the scarf?

Yes, why not. Salams. But I'm a guy. As far as I know, Islam does require that women wear scarf(not necessarily scarf but to cover their hair). But many women don't wear it.

i beg to differ my good friend. fair enough if you choose not to wear it, but it's more than just material covering your head. it's a way of showing you have dignity, and prevention of the wrong kind of attention, because you can't controll who's eyeing you up, but you can prevent it. it's all about self respect. btw, nobody 'lets' people judge themselves- people do it anyway. that's a bit ignorant to say that you don't care about what others think, and that it "looks silly"-> now thats just shallow. but salams anyways, with all due respect. because we are muslims xxx :D

Salam sis! I do not wear hijab either. I do not think it is silly though; i do have great respect for sisters who do. I do believe like you that Quran does not tell us to cover our head/hair. Had God wanted us to do so, he could have used the words, since he is never short of words. He explicitely asked us to cover our bossoms! What about many muslimahs who wear hijab but with that really revealing clothes and tons of make up? You see loads of them here in the West; hijab is just a fashion statement. And to all of you here saying it's a sin not to wear hijab: stop being so judgemental based on your beliefs.

Please explain to me why you hold more value in a website and an email over flesh and bones and an actual humans mind and even over your own mind after study. Also please explain to me how you wear your shawl before you lower it on your bosoms. Also please explain to me what your elderly woman can be lax about when they have finished their child bearing ages. stop confusing yourself. Tell yourself the truth. Be honest with yourself. Just because something sounds good and is knew doesn't mean it is right. May Allah guide Us ALL.

i am wearing the scarf and you should too!!! in the KORAN ALLAH said so... to hide your ornaments which is your beauty and everyone knows that hair is a big part of beauty in a woman, when i convert to islam it was kind of hard for me to cover my hair but now i understand that, and unless you live in a laic country where you can't work with a hijab, i suggest you wear it! do not forget ALLAH said you take everything in the KORAN or you reject everything.... SALAAM sister No you are wrong your hair is part of your ornaments and beauty and it indeed apear... do you think all the woman in hijab are not enough educated to understand that? don't find any reasons to dress or and look like kufar! you must look muslim!
