There are many tenses: The Simple Verb Forms - The Simple Present, The Simple Past, and the Simple Future The Continuous Verb Forms - The Present Continuous, The Past Continuous, and the Future Continuous The Perfect Verb Forms - Present Perfect, Past Perfect, Future Perfect The Perfect Continuous Forms - Present Perfect Continuous, Past Perfect Continuous, and Future Perfect Continuous How to use the Future Tense: The Simple Future Tense - shall/will + present tense of verb Use as follows: -to refer to an intention/ a negative intention I shall come to dinner. She won't listen to me. -to refer to predictable actions or events in the future People will complain. -to express an opinion about a future event I hope he will wait for you. -to refer to a real possibility with conditional clauses If I lock the door, he won't come in. The Future Continuous Tense - Shall/will + be + -ing verb Use as follows: -used to refer to an action that will be in progress as a future time I will be studying for my examinations. The Future Perfect Tense - will/shall have + the past participle Use as follows: -uesd to refer to an action that will be completed at a certain time in the future He will have finished college by next June.
