Just saw a water bug or palmetto bug in my room...advice? Questions!!! Please. ?

I killed it, and I have never ever seen one in my room before. I have seen them in the house before but it was about two years ago, and we had a couple. But we got rid of them. Before the summer, we had little roaches but cleaned them out. Now I just saw the first one in years and first one ever in my room. Do you think there is more? What do you think caused it to come in? One thing, I did have a rotten pumpkin in my room that I carved that I didnt throw away yet. It made a spot on the floor under it damp. I threw it away now. Could of that attracted it? I poured bleach on that area as well just in case, lol. Thank you!

yes moisture will attract them and the sugar content in the pumpkin as well. Bleach is good. you may be able to find a chalk that is a bug repellent - it is only sold at Asian market places you may be able to find it online . Since they breath through the feet they run thought it and it kills them with in minutes, but it is safe for animals and people.Just run the calk around the edges of the floor near the walls and see how it works.

Bugs come inside looking for two things: food and water. We get a stray one in the house now and then. I react just like you and freak competely out. I hate having bugs, especially Palmetto Bugs in the house How did they get that name, anyway? They're a cockroach. I think Palmetto Bug is a name made up by the tourist industry so hotels can say they have Palmetto BUgs rather than they are a roach motel.

Water won't help, the bugs run from the water and bypass up on your kitty's head and it will tickle her like loopy! Sounds humorous whether it is authentic and water won't drown them. basically wait til the next day once you could bypass out and get some flea killer... if the bugs are fleas. they could be ticks? yet a flea tub could do the trick. basically carry on one greater day.

most likely it came from the rotten pumpkin, try googling the little bugger and read up on them to see exactly why and where they come from, and what they are attracted too.
