How else can i verify that this car has ABS (Anti-lock Brakes)?

...besides by having to drive it through a winter storm and stomping on the brakes to see if it starts pulsating? It is a Honda Accord LX sedan but if i am not mistaken (which i doubt), the anti-lock brakes were optional on this particular model and for this year (2001, 4-cylinder w/Automatic). Also, did the ABS work for both the front AND rear brakes, or just the front ones?

Turn the key to the start position just before the starter engages. You know, when the gauges and lights ignite, but the starter does not engage. Look at the lights and see if the abs light comes on. If it does, you have abs, if not, you don't. Check your owners manual for the position of the light.

I really thought all cars came standard with at least rear abs. Anyway, for someone who has to ask that question, the answer is absolutely. ABS brakes are a wonderful safety feature for most people. Myself and other enthusiasts may like the old style, but for many of today's drivers, ABS and stability control are valuable options.

Ok. having sensors on your all wheels, ABS light when you switch on the ignition key, and following the brake pipes all are correct. Also, if you are not sure again after these, test if your car's ABS works or not: in a very safe place, and with a speed of about 40 km/h press your brake pedal fully. if your ABS works, you wil sense some "pulsation" on pedal.(be care-full about other cars) ABS prevents the brakes from blocking and keeps car stopped on straight way, when you press the brake pedal. then working on just two wheels is not possible for ay car.

ABS mean Anti Lock Brake system. It does not state front or rear because it refers to the whole braking system in general. Simply look at the back wheel through the rims. If you see rotors then it has ABS, if not then it doesn't. It's that simple.

best way to find out, pop your hood open and look for brake lines. follow them and you will see them go to the same place (abs motor) on your model it should be next to where you fill your washer fluid up. looking at rear rotors doesnt mean a thing and the abs light comes on when you turn the key wether you have it or not

You can call any Honda dealership and give them the VIN and they will tell you this for free.
