Ahhh the age old question.... what is love? Well love means different things to different people which is why this question is so hard to answer.
For me personally... love is a mixture of plenty of elements. First off, there has to be that spark, the drive and energy between two people. You usually get this in the first date, just from the eye to eye contact, but it has to last.
Secondly, love is about liking the qualities in the other person. Is this person truly a good person? Are they direct and honest? How do they feel about religion, kids, etc.... not only because it will make life easier if you agree on the essentials but I also believe the more ideals you match on, the more of a match you're meant to be.
Third is a common understanding of life and how each one handles situations without bringing the other one down. Everyone is different, NO TWO PEOPLE ARE THE SAME.... you can't expect that, but as long as you can tollerate the differences (as long as they are small ones, not the ones listed in the paragraph above).
Lastly, love shouldn't be taken TOO seriously. I see too many couples start taking everything way too seriously, ripping apart their partners words, analyzing things deeper than they need to be..... Love should be a friendship first and foremost, natural and flowing.
