What is a good first car for me?

I'm learning to drive soon! So im looking for a reasonably priced, reliable, cheap(ish) to run first car (new or second hand). What makes/models are the best? What car are reliable 2nd hand? This will really help, I don't know where to start when I comes to cars lol Thanks xx

Honda's and Toyota's will be the most reliable.. So a Civic or a Corolla. Mazda3 is good too.

I agree with the majority. A used Honda Jazz would be very reliable and economical. It topped a recent Whatcar survey for that type of car. I would visit at least two or three Honda main dealers and haggle hard for the car of your choice, with full service history. If you can find one with the remainder of it's three year guarantee, even better. Don't be embarrassed to haggle. I know it comes hard to us reserved types, but the car dealers expect it. Don't get excited, stay cool, and be firm. Remember that everything they say to you will be aimed at parting you from as much of your cash as they can. Walk away if you are not thrilled with the deal. They are truly desperate at this time!

I think used Honda is the best to choice. A friend of mine bought a used honda civic about 10 years ago when she was a teenager. She loves to drive with no problem for 8 years. Two years ago, she was ready to buy a brand new honda accord car. She still loves it and take care of her car very well.

if you can afford to make payments and can afford the higher full coverage insurance; then my suggestion to you is to look into one of honda or toyotas new models. all new cars come with a warranty and everything is barnd new! i dont think there is a better feeling! But if you are looking to go cheap, get greast gas, and have affordable insurance! then go for a used honda civic or an older accord, you wont be disappointed!!
