What is this "Twilight" book that I keep hearing about?

Hem. I speak for all antitwilighters when I say it is the worst book ever written. (I've read the entire series, including Midnight Sun, fyi) It is seriously just a bad fanfiction about vampires, that is what Stephanie meyers writing is like. She seems to have the mind of fifteen-year-old girl desperate to get a boyfriend. Bella's patheticness borders on sexism and all of the character's are extremely one-dimenstional. Example (description of personalities): Bella: Mary Sue/ pathetic Edward: generic Alice: nice Emmett: macho? can't really think of anything else to describe him, though "macho" isnt a personality trait, it's the only way you can describe him. Rosalie: ***** Jasper: ???? He has no personality! I'm dead serious!!!! Carslie: father Esme: mother That's about all of their personality. There are so many disturbing things throughout the entire series that are seen as completely normal! For instance, Edward stalks Bella! He watches her sleep every night and listens to her when she sleeps! CREEPY! Also, the fact that she gets pregnant when she's a teenager doesn't seem to weird anyone out because it's "true love". Or the fact that, the first time they had sex, he BEAT her up! And, of course, the fact that he gave her a c-section with his teeth because her baby was destroying her from the inside wasn't odd, oh no. Or that they name their daughter "Renesmee" which is the weirdest name ever, or that Jacob, an adult werewolf, fell in love with this newborn! WHAT THE HELL???!!! Aside from all these weird things, the writing is also very bad. You will find such quotes as "Do I dazle YOU?"- Edward "Frequently!"- Bella and "Besides, friends don't let friends drive drunk."-Edward "Drunk?"-Bella "You're intoxicated by my very presence." "I can't argue with that," Bella. Not to mention how sappy they are ALL the freaking time and their love was random and made no sense. Plus, this story has NO PLOT WHATSOEVER. 348 pgs of this book have no plot except "I love you Edward!" "I love you Bella!" After these pages, this so-called "plot" just turns into another vampire being obsessed with Bella for no reason other than the fact that she smells good. Bella and Edward are also the MOST GENERIC characters ever written. Neither of them have ANY flaws! Bella's supposed "flaw" is that she is unbelievably clumsy to the point where she literally trips on flat concrete every 5 min, and, yet, somehow, everyone finds this incredibly endearing so it's not a flaw because everyone loves her for it! It is said constantly that she's not exceptionlly pretty, and, yet, all the guys in the school want to do her and Edward thinks shes the most beautiful thing ever. And don't even get me started on Edward! His only personality is "I love you bella!" He can do no wrong, his only flaw is that he gets jealous, and what generic teenage girl doesn't love that? He SUCKS. I hate him. It's annoying how generic he is. And every time he kisses her she FAINTS! Plus, everyone in the entire town is obsessed with her for no reason, and then Edwards family becomes obsessed with her for no reason and the werewolves become obsessed with her for no reason! She's not even likable! If you want to keep your sanity, do NOT read this series. It is only liked by pathetic teenage girls that just want a boyfriend desperately. Do not stoop to their level, I beg of you. P.S. VAMPIRES SHOULD NOT SPARKLE!!!!!!

Ah, so you've heard of Twilight! Well, is a series of books written by Stephanie Meyer. The first book, Twilight, introduces us to a teenage girl, Bella, who moves from her home in Phoenix to a small town called Forks to live with her Dad. There she falls in love with Edward Cullen, her classmates, who turns out to be a vampire. He loves her back, but there is the problem that he is a vampire and she is human. Plus, some evil vampires want to eat her too, and he has to protect her and everything. But don't get discouraged by my description, it's better than I made it sound. After Twilight, there are another 3 books, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. All of the books are about the love story of Edward and Bella. This is more of a book for girls (because the male lead is unbeatable and perfect in every sense of the word) but I know of some guys who have enjoyed it too. It's a book for young adults, about teenage love, and it also has some action and there is some killing of vampires, it's pretty cool. I liked the series a lot. It is very well written and it's easy to read, plus very enjoyable, I just love it. There are several conflicts between vampires and vampires, and some conflicts between vampires and werewolves. The vampire have some pretty neat powers. I think you may like this, give it a try and ge it.

If you have an open and active imagination, I definitely recommend it. Imagination is key for these books. Also, if you're a hard-core Anne Rice, Dracula, etc. fan, you may have trouble enjoying it. You'll find that all of the people who diss the series have both a closed and/or inactive imagination and are set on the traditional vampires. The Twilight Saga is a vampire series for people who don't like vampire series, as it has been said.

Okay, 2 start off, even though its about 'vampires' and 'werewolves' its SO NOT like those freaky 3o days of night kind of thing. its a four book series: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, And Breaking Dawn. I absolutely HATED reading last year, but i heard these two girls behind me in class, and they would never shut up about it. so i bought them and read them all. Twilight By Stephenie Meyer is a book about a girl who moves with her dad to the small, hardly sunny twon of forks, washington. she never really cared of fitting in. but she meets a boy named EDWARD CULLEN. Then she falls in love with him. Then she finds out he was a vampire. summit entertainment is creating a movie about it (out 11/21/08) And alot of celebrities love them: Amy Teegarden Selena Gomez Hayley Williams From Paramore i can't really remember them all. But yes, some people think its rediculous, but more than half of those people never read it. all because they heard the word VAMPIRE. you might actaully like. dont judge a book by its cover. or size, for that matter. read at least half of the book, then judge it.

True, its not the best book ever written, but its a fun read that lets you escape from reality and into a world of fiction for a good amount of time. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to you.

HAHA! Yes! I used to have no idea what Twilight was, just like you, but when school started back in August, all my friend forced me to read it..........I LOVED it!!!!!! I read the entire series in a week (one book per night) and I'm now having my birthday party planned around the movie release!! Twilight is a must it's one of the best series I have ever read! (and I have read a TON!)

twilight is an amazing romance book written by stephanie meyers. a brief summary:Isabella "Bella" Swan moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona, to rainy Forks, Washington, to live with her father, Charlie. She chooses to do this so that her mother, Renée, can travel with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, who is a minor league baseball player. In Phoenix she was a bit of an outcast, so it surprises her that she attracts much attention at her new school, and is quickly befriended by several students. Much to her dismay, several boys in the school compete for shy Bella's attention. When Bella sits next to Edward Cullen in class on her first day of school, Edward seems utterly repulsed by her. He even attempts to change his schedule to avoid her, leaving Bella completely puzzled about his attitude towards her. After tricking a family friend, Jacob Black, into telling her the local tribal legends, Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires. Although she was inexplicably attracted to him even when she thought Edward drank human blood, she is much relieved to learn that the Cullens choose to abstain from drinking human blood, and drink animal blood instead. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love. The seemingly perfect state of their relationship is thrown into chaos when another vampire coven sweeps into Forks, and James, a tracker vampire, decides that he wants to hunt Bella for sport. She does so, and while at the dance studio, James attacks her. Edward, along with the rest of the Cullen family, rescue Bella before James can kill her. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella's hand, Edward sucks the venom out of her system before it can spread and change her into a vampire. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, which Edward refuses to let happen. MY OPINION: IT IS AN AMAZING BOOK!!! it is a musyt read and if ur a girl..ull probably also fall in love with edward culleN!! its about the love betwewen bella, a fragile human, and edawrd, a strong vegetarian(lives on the blood of animals instead of humans) vampire! READ! READ ! READ! p.s there a four official books. and half of a 5th book that the author refuses to finish READ!
