i'm lactose intolerant and i had pancakes this morning?

i had them around 9am or 10. we added 3/4 a cup of milk to the recipe. i felt fine but reallllllyy gassy. it wasn't until i ate again (a few hours ago) that i started feeling my usual symptoms of eating stuff with lactose in it. even if you cook foods that have milk, does the lactose still stay there?

Ugh. I feel for you. I know EXACTLY what you feel like right now. Yep, lactose stays in there even when cooked. Let your teacher know you can't have milk (lactose intolerance is so common I am surprised she didn't ask about allergies and intolerances!) so she can have Silk available the next time you all cook anything. If you can get some gas-ex pills or liquid, I find that helps a lot. Hope you feel better soon!

I would think that it stays in there. I certainly wouldn't want to risk it wit the discomfort it causes. Maybe soy milk will work to make the pancakes next time...

Yes, it does. I'm lactose intolerant also. If the recipe calls for milk, I'd use Lactose free milk, if I were you.
