We just call them the Chain. I've been on courses a few times with guides and they tend to just use some generic term that you'll understand the first time they say it. But I'd say Rapell ring is probably right.

There are many types of bolt "thingies" at the top of a climb. If your sport climbing, it's often called a cold shunt. These come in many varieties. Some have snap gates like you see on a carrabiner, or there are some that are just plain old eye bolts. Or you may come across just a couple of bolts, short hand for a system that involves an angular piece of metal with two holes, one for the screw that holds it to the rock, either glued or with the use of an expansion bolt, and the elongated hole where the carrabiner is clipped. I'd suggest looking thru a gear catalog so you can see the variety of anchors available. Or maybe anchor was the term you were looking for. I forgot to mention rap rings which are welded rings at the ends of chains or spliced into bolt hangers.

Well theres the Rappel ring that you put the rope through, then theres the bolt or hanger that you attach carabiners or quickdraws to and then run the rope through the carabiners. You dont run the rope through the bolt itself

Rappel ring? On a bolt the "thingie" you put a caribiner through is called a "hanger".
