Don't buy into a PowerPC Macintosh. Both Apple and third party vendors are moving away from supporting the platform. and the next major OSX release might not support your PC, same with new games and applications. Seriously, Intel only unless you get a sweet deal.

Although Apple does suggest that you buy Mac anti-virus programs, it is only because they don't want to get sued. Although it is entirely possible that you get a Virus on a Mac, it is extremely unlikely. If you have Anti-Virus protection on your Windows computer, you will not be able to use this on your Mac... sorry!
