I'm a conservatory student. Classical music is my life and career. I love it. Though, even if I weren't a career musician, I would still love classical music, because I love art in general. I love visual art, drama, poetry, literature, film, ballet, opera....etc etc. I just happen to have chosen music as the one to do for a living, and I could just have easily decided to do one of the others. I'm just an arts-oriented guy in general. The reason I came to Yahoo Answers a couple months ago is to help get more people interested in classical music. If I can get just one person to become interested in classical music, I've done something good in my opinion. Most of the world just goes through life doing their job, watching tv, eating, and sleeping. They never get to experience the transcendental aesthetic bliss that you get from a wonderful work of art(that includes all the arts.) It sounds lame, I know, but it's impossible to describe to someone who's not into it. Part of the reason is that classical music has become trivialized by car commercials and christmas movies. Even something as sublime as Beethoven's Fifth Symphony can become cliche if you hear it on TV hundreds of times. But I digress. Anyway, I hope I leave the classical section of Y!A better than I found it.

Classical Music is out of this world. Literally, I feel as if I'm on a higher plain when I listen to it! I love it and am glad to see others (including quite young which I am happy to see) love it too! I also play the flute, dream of being in an orchestra (but feel too nervous to join one!) and I'm 25. :)

Of course. Classical music has taken over my ipod. The beauty of classical music is that it can be enjoyed on so many different levels and it appeals to all ages. Unfortunately, not many people nowadays listen to classical, especially in my generation. But there is a select group of us who do listen to classical. And I don't think it is going to die out. I have a large collection of classical cds. Still, I like a varied selection of music in my life. I like some pop, rock, jazz, country, classical, vocal, easy listening, soundtracks, etc...
