I'm soooo bored at school, can u help?

so i'm 14, i was born in the states and this year my mother decided to move to turkey. I had to go to school of course, so i'm in a turkish school. I don't speak the language and nobody's teaching me. I don't want to learn the language either but i do want to go to a international school. So I don't have any friends at school, and i'm bored to death, cause all the stupid lessons are in turkish. How do I solve this? Is there a way to entertain myself? I've been skipping school a lot because i hate it so much, and nobody wants to listen to me if it's about school. Please Help!!??

May I ask why you don't want to learn turkish? I mean, you are living in Turkey. There are people in the world who accomplish great things and have great lives. They are the people that in your situation would be working overtime to learn the language and make new friends. They deal with the situations they find themselves in and make the best of things. Then there are the people that have miserable lives, complain about everything, and would rather curse the darkness than light a candle. It sounds like you are on the fast track to becoming the second kind of person. Which is also the reason that no one will listen to you about school issues anymore.

Well, you have to learn the language if you plan on living there for a long while. Either go to some english/turkish classes, or go to an international school, as much as you don't want to.

Well, it sucks to be in an interesting place and not be able to understand what they're saying at school. I wouldn't fault you if you chose to skip and explore/get into trouble, just remember that the result of that will be, at a minimum, you being in school longer later down the road. If that's okay with you at this point, try to make the most of your time in Turkey regardless of if you're getting an education, so that later in life (as a second-year senior in high school, possibly) you can remember that it was worth it.

Well, you know what the answer is. You have to make yourself learn the language and move on from there, there is no way around it. You can do. It is an investment in your future to learn it and it will benefit you more than anyone else.

That is absolutely ridiculous of your mother to send you to a school where they are not teaching in your language, you really need to put pressure on her to move you to an international school or back to the US.

perhaps the us embassy may have some practical answers. perhaps you can go live with another relative in the states so you can go to a regular high school. I was an air force bratt and there are a lot of international schools - problem is they are expensive. the other alternative is home school yourself -

Why not talk about it to your mother try moving back to U.S., was their an important reason to even move to Turkey anyway? Atleast try to learn the language, even if you are moving, thats BS if they aren't teaching you the langauge they should notice!

wowwwwww :| you need to go to school to learn stuff you cant just not learn anything thats really bad, and your only 14 think about your future.. what are you going to do? you should definately tell your parents you dont understand and tell them to send you to an international school..because you need to learn SOMETHING! as for now since you dont understand anything, just take an ipod to school and stick it in your ears, its not like youd understand anything that the teachers would say anyways. or you could doodle on your papers =)
