Is it ok if my guinea pig chews on a lollipop stick?

i know this is kind of a wierd question but i know that rodents have to chew on something to knaw thier teeth down or they'll get mallaclusion(sorry cant spell it) but i cant get her to chew on anything else. we got her wooden chew blocks and since the wood didnt work we got her a pumice stone (specificly for guinea pig chewing) and she wont touch that either. we found out today that she like to chew on lollipop sticks(lol dont ask me how) and she loves it.....idk i guess she likes the taste of the paper or somthing (cuz she tries to eat paper all the time 2 lol) but anyway i was wondering if this would hurt her at all (its just a regular paper lollipop stick, not plastic or anything). and if it would accually help her knaw her teeth down (bc thier not like wicked hard sticks, she can chew off little flakes but can chew chuncks off or anything without working at it for a while).............................................................anyway sorry 4 all the info and thanks so much for your help! :)

Pigs love to chew and eat things. Pet stores actually sell flavored wooden sticks as treats for pigs. The only thing I would worry about with a lollipop stick is if it were treated with any chemicals, so that might be something to research. I give my boys toilet paper rolls all the time and wadded up paper balls or sometimes a cardboard box to destroy. I have a coroplast cage and got worried when my one pig started eating it, but I was told by several rescue people that pigs have stomachs of steel (though certain veggies like carrots should be avoided).

Hello there! :) Somebody said something about clogging up the digestive system, but I don't think that will happen because they are made of paper and paper is wood and it is fine for guinea pigs to eat wood. I give my guinea pigs toilet paper rolls that have no more toilet paper all the time and they love them! Sometimes I also stuff them with paper balls or timothy hay. :) Yes, it does help guinea pigs wear down their teeth, as do lots of other things. Even timothy hay which is usually soft help wear down their teeth! :) Hope this helped! :D
